Selectboard Meeting September 11, 2007

Present: Bill Callnan, Mary Alexander, Cindy Carlson, June Lakin,
Peter Hood, Mary Just Skinner

Meeting called to order at 6:32 pm

The financial report for 2006-2007 was reviewed. 

Motion: Mary Alexander moves to approve a Liquor License for the Red Hen Bakery. Bill seconds, motion carries. 

The Board completed an environmental site questionnaire submitted by Johnson Company for the former Morse property. 

Motion:  Mary Just Skinner moves to appoint, Bill Callnan, Dick Alderman, Shawn Fielder, Fred McCullough, Jason Merrill, Mark Tillinghast, Cindy Carlson, Dorinda Crowell to the Building Committee. Mary Alexander seconds, motion carries. Bill abstains.

MJS moves to approve the minutes of 7/24/2007 and 8/21/2007. Bill seconds, motion carries.

Correspondence
Letter from Department of Taxes requesting signature to use the Marshall and Swift Cost Tables until June 30, 2008. Board Chair needs to sign.

Letter from Janet thanking the Board for their support during June’s absence.

Petition to close the Culver Hill Shooting Gallery with a request for a letter of support to be submitted to the VT Department of Parks and Forrest. 10/23 public hearing will be held.

Letter from Donald Jones concerning using slate v.s. gravel.

Notice from Vermont State Infrastructure Bank that Funding is available for Municipal Transportation Construction Projects.

A letter from Deb Austin. She is concerned about damage from the flood in August and that she will be washed out if there is a larger flood.  She had an engineer inspect her property and she is concerned about some excavation being done on abutting property. Bill had suggested that she speak with Gary Lamell and with her neighbors, see e-mail. She also suggested when zoning is looked at impact on neighbors should be considered. Larger culverts should be installed.

Mary Just Skinner has been asked about the Town’s policy on ATV’s. She has a problem with town drainage and has spoken with Gary. Martha & Mark Harris are the property owners.
