Public Notice
The Middlesex Select Board adopted at its April 27, 2010 meeting a revised Speed Limit Ordinance “On Vermont State Highways”. The purpose of the ordinance is to control speeding within the Village of Middlesex. The ordinance includes the following sections: Authority, Purpose, Severability, Speed Limits for US Route 2, VT RT 100B and VT RT 12, Penalties, Enforcement Officials and Effective Date. The ordinance will become effective on June 26, 2010 unless a petition signed by at least five percent of the voters of Middlesex is filed with the municipal clerk by June 10, 2010, asking for a vote to disapprove the ordinance. If a petition is received, the Middlesex Select Board will warn a special meeting and the voters may vote on that question.
